Atholl Palace, Pitlochry

Scotland is one of my favourite countries and I don’t get to come here enough, so when Bethany and Laurie booked me from Vietnam I was over the moon. They’d picked Atholl Palace as their wedding venue, and I could not wait.

They both live and work not far from Saigon. It’s a place I have been for work myself. I was travelling in South East Asia at when they first got in touch with me and the time difference was only 1 hour so we organised a Skype call to introduce ourselves and talk through what they wanted.

After booking me, we arranged to meet up in Scotland at the venue when they were back in the country. They planned to be there a week before the day of the wedding and for about a week or so afterwards too. Lots of family to meet up with and not much time to do so.

I was staying at my Scotland office in Stirling so I could meet up with them whenever they had time on their busy trip back. We arranged to go to the Atholl Palace so they could talk me through what they wanted and to discuss some ideas for photographs. To say I was excited to photograph a wedding here is a bit of an understatement! It’s incredible.

The whole day went so smoothly with platy of time for Beth and Laurie to mingle with guests and catch up with family that they don’t get to see that often. With everything taking place at the Palace I had plenty of time to get all the shots they wanted.

I can’t wait to be back here again for more weddings in the future.
