Oman Wedding Photographer, Shangri La Hotel, Muscat

The wedding season is off to an amazing start for me this year, with the first being at the Shangri La in Muscat. Oman is one of those places on my list that was always – “I want to go, but I have no idea when I will get there”, and I can’t thank Jen and Brian enough for the opportunity to go and experience what Muscat has to offer. I have to go back to see the rest of the country as 1 week is seriously not enough time to explore this amazing country.

The Shangri La is such a perfect backdrop for wedding photography, especially the private area around the swimming pool in the Husn Hotel. It’s picturesque architecture sets up the shots beautifully and the surroundings are just wonderful.

In a break from tradition, I took shots of Jen and Brian together before the ceremony – which was such a good idea. They were both very relaxed and we had plenty of time to get some amazing shots early on in the day when the light was wonderful. It also meant that there was lots of time after the ceremony for mingling with guests and just enjoying their time together.

Along with having a priest perform a blessing, there was a buddhist monk offering a blessing, an Apache Indian blessing and a Quaich from Scotland all included in the wonderful ceremony. As the official marriage was taking place at the British Embassy the following day, the day was an incredibly relaxed affair.

I spent the a week with Jen, Brian, their friends and family – and it’s often remarked that it’s the people you are with that make an experience what it is – and this was no exception. A wonderful couple, great family and friends and I was privileged to spend time with them all. I have yet to add the photos from the beach and the boat trip, they will be uploaded soon.

To Jen and Brian – thank you so much for all that you did whilst I was with you, for making me feel so welcome and I hope you enjoy looking through the photos.
