M-Shed, Bristol - An amazing wedding
Sat, May 19 2018
When you meet Sophie and James together for the first time, you quickly realise that this is one of the sweetest couples you will ever meet. They are so lovely together, and it shows. They were given my details from a couple I had photographed a few years back, which is how many of the couples find me. (huge thanks to Tarryn and Gary for putting them in touch with me, I really appreciate it).
From the outset I knew that this would be a fun wedding, and I had been looking forward to it for a while. I am not often in the centre of Bristol for wedding photography, and I could not wait to photograph in and around Bristol Docks - the M-Shed and docklands provide a spectacular backdrop. There is something wonderful about photographing a newly married couple when hundreds of people are just walking past in the back ground. You can create your own little world for few minutes whilst creating some great images.
After meeting up with Sophie and James a few weeks before the big day, I already had a good idea of what they were looking for. Lots of fun, natural shots with a few family group ones thrown in for good measure. Arriving at their home on the morning for the bridal preparations, the day began so smoothly. Sophie was totally relaxed, and just enjoying the day - right from the start. Although, we did have to drag her sister/bridesmaid away from the royal wedding - well, at one point we were all in there watching it.
With perfect weather, a great location and truly wonderful people, this was going to be an easy wedding to photograph. The whole day, I could not stop smiling and just loved spending time with these wonderful people. The band in the evening were amazing too. They certainly got people moving on the after the first dance and this gave the opportunity to get some wicked photos of people just letting rip on the dance floor - Sophie, it was a great knee slide you performed, but I think James stole the show with his smouldering look on the dance floor - yep, his favourite photo is on here.
Sophie, James - so many thanks to the both of you to inviting me to your wedding. I loved the whole day, and it was such fun to be part of your wedding. I just know the album you have selected it going to be the perfect reminder of your day.
Here are just a few of my favourites from the day, I hope you enjoy.
